The NA-ZR brings Nikon's compact full-frame cinema camera — developed with RED Digital Cinema — underwater. Internal 6K 60p in REDCODE RAW with 15+ stops of dynamic range, in a small, rugged body. Built on Nauticam's N120 port system with a new Z-mount gear system, it keeps the essentials under your fingers and ships with vacuum and leak monitoring as standard.

The Camera: Nikon ZR

The Nikon ZR is a full-frame Z-mount cinema camera developed in collaboration with RED Digital Cinema — Nikon's entry into the cinema market. Compact and rugged at just 630g with battery and media, it records up to 6K 60p internally in the new 12-bit R3D NE RAW format (RED's color science, 15+ stops of dynamic range), alongside N-RAW and ProRes. The EXPEED 7 processor and deep-learning AI deliver Z9-derived autofocus with subject detection for people, animals and vehicles, and a fanless heat-dissipating body supports up to 125 minutes of recording on a single battery.

The Housing
Lens compatibility and the N120 port system
The NA-ZR is built on Nauticam's N120 port system and accommodates Nikon Z-mount lenses with a new gear system designed around the compact housing. The 22225 N120 FTZ Adapter ER 25 with Knob adds manual-focus control for Z-mount lenses with their corresponding gears. Check the NA-ZR port chart for full compatibility details.
Worth noting: a vacuum system reset switch beneath the tray means you don't need to open the housing back during lens or port changes, and a built-in 1/4"-20 cheese plate adds mounting on top.
Mission Control: every control within reach
In true Nauticam fashion, essential controls sit as close to the handles as possible — positioned where your fingers need them rather than mirroring the camera's button layout. Dials carry rubberised finger grooves and the levers are tuned for smooth operation, making the housing intuitive to drive throughout a dive.

The NA-ZR supports both optical and electrical triggering.

Vacuum check and leak detection — standard
Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection electronics ship with the NA-ZR as standard. Combined with the optional 25625 M16 Vacuum Valve II, the system continuously reports the housing's watertight, safe-to-dive status through a color-coded LED: solid vacuum, or vacuum loss. Leak detection runs on the same circuit, so any water intrusion triggers an audible and visual alarm.
The system is temperature-compensated, so it won't throw false alarms from a change in water temperature or from the camera heating up on an action-packed dive.
