The NA-A7RV takes Sony's high-resolution flagship underwater — a 61MP sensor with an AI-driven autofocus system, 8-stop stabilisation and 8K video, in a rugged aluminium housing. Built on Nauticam's N100 port system, it gives fingertip access to every key control, runs Sony FE (and adapted EF) glass with Nauticam's optics range, and ships with vacuum and leak monitoring electronics pre-installed.

The Sony α7R V is the fifth generation of Sony's high-resolution full-frame line. It keeps the 61MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor of the α7R IV but pairs it with the BIONZ XR engine and a dedicated AI processing unit, lifting processing speed roughly 8× and bringing a far more capable autofocus system with deep-learning subject recognition across a wide range of subject types. Stabilisation rises to 8 stops, and video adds 8K capture plus oversampled 4K up to 60p with S-Cinetone.

The Housing

Lens compatibility and the N100 port system

The NA-A7RV is built around Nauticam's N100 port system for Sony E-mount, supporting a wide variety of native lenses with optical-glass and acrylic ports. With an E-mount to EF-mount lens adapter plus an N100-to-N120 adapter, it can also use the Canon N120 EF-mount port system, expanding the options further. Beyond conventional optics, it leverages Nauticam's Water Contact Optics — the WACP-1 or WWL-1B for up to 130° field of view with full zoom-through and a near-0" minimum focus distance, or the SMC-1 and SMC-2 for super-macro magnification up to 4× with the Sony 90mm macro.

Mission Control: every control within reach

Nauticam's Mission Control philosophy puts each control where it's needed, within easy reach of the reinforced ergonomic handles. Atop the housing, a dedicated lever switches quickly between Still, Movie and S&Q (VFR video) modes. A dual thumb lever near the right handle actuates Record and AF-On, and a single lever near the left handle covers Playback. A patented port-locking lever makes lens changes quick, and the locking latches open the housing fast for battery and media swaps.

HDMI output

A large-bore M24 bulkhead at the front supports HDMI 2.0, or HDMI 1.4 with a step-down adapter to M16, for external monitors and recorders. An additional M10 threaded mounting position near the front centre makes running an external monitor easier. The α7R V can output 16-bit RAW video to external recorders at up to 4K 60p.

Vacuum check and leak detection — standard

The NA-A7RV ships with Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection electronics pre-installed, requiring only the optional 25624 M14 Vacuum Valve II. The system continuously reports the housing's watertight, safe-to-dive status through a color-coded LED: solid vacuum, or vacuum loss. Leak detection runs on the same circuit, so any water intrusion triggers an audible and visual alarm.

The system is temperature-compensated, so it won't throw false alarms from a change in water temperature or from the camera heating up on an action-packed dive.

Strobe triggering

External strobes are triggered through the integrated fiber-optic bulkheads using the optional Mini Flash Trigger for Sony (26302). Electronic triggering is also available via an optional Nikonos or Ikelite-style bulkhead.
