Nauticam NA-Ninja V-S Underwater Housing
For the Atomos Ninja V / V+ / Ninja Ultra 5" with AtomX SDI Module
The NA-Ninja V-S is the SDI-capable version of Nauticam's Ninja V housing. It accepts the Atomos AtomX SDI Module so the Ninja V can be used as an SDI monitor/recorder — or to cross-convert HDMI and SDI for dual or remote monitor setups — in addition to HDMI 2.0. The monitor drops straight in, and the housing ships with vacuum and leak monitoring as standard. HDMI and SDI cables are sold separately.
Consider the NA-Ninja V-S if you:
- Need SDI input/output (or HDMI-SDI cross conversion) underwater, including long surface cable runs up to 45m
- Want a bright 1000-nit 10-bit HDR monitor and a 4K 60p ProRes/DNxHR recorder
- Run a supported camera housing and want both HDMI 2.0 and SDI options on dual M28 bulkheads
- Want reliable safety monitoring on the monitor housing itself

The Housing
The monitor-recorder: Atomos Ninja V
The Atomos Ninja V is a bright 1000-nit 10-bit HDR 5.2" monitor that can display over 10 stops of dynamic range with compatible cameras, with a full suite of exposure and focus tools. It's also a recorder: over HDMI 2.0 it captures 4K 60p in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNxHR to AtomX SSDmini drives (the Ninja V+ adds up to 4K 120p and 8K 30p ProRes RAW). A 1TB SSDmini holds roughly 150 minutes of 4K.
Exposure and focus tools
Exposure guides include a waveform for luminance, RGB parade for colour balance and a vector scope for hue and saturation — fast, accurate judging of exposure even in difficult light, with Rec.709 or HLG monitoring when shooting Log or HDR. Critical focus is handled by peaking tools: Focus Peaking Colour, Focus Peaking Mono, and a Focus Assist Outline on a black background.
Connectivity and controls
The NA-Ninja V-S is built around the M28 large-bore bulkhead, which on the 'S' housing supports both HDMI 2.0 and SDI via the AtomX SDI Module — allowing an SDI connection to the monitor, or HDMI-SDI cross conversion. With dual M28 bulkheads, a second HDMI or SDI cable can run to another monitor, with cube-format 3D LUTs applied to the output; SDI surface cables run up to 45m. The monitor drops in without trays and is held by two rotating locking levers; touchscreen functions are mirrored by buttons and a selector knob beneath the screen — PLAY, REC, MON, RGB, PEAK and a multi-selector lever.
Battery and vacuum system
An NP-F970 battery gives up to 130 minutes of run time (105 minutes with the SDI module) when recording 4K 60p. A CR-2032 powers Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection system; with the included M16 Vacuum Valve II (25625), a multi-colour LED on top of the housing gives real-time feedback on watertight integrity, with leak detection on the same circuit and temperature compensation against false alarms.
