Nauticam NA-Z5II Underwater Housing
For the Nikon Z5II
The NA-Z5II brings Nikon's most accessible full-frame body underwater — a 24.5MP BSI sensor with EXPEED 7 processing and Z9-derived autofocus, in a compact, lightweight rig. Built on Nauticam's N120 port system, it runs both Z-mount and F-mount glass, keeps every essential control under your fingers, and ships with vacuum and leak monitoring as standard.
Consider the NA-Z5II if you:
- Want an accessible full-frame entry — 24.5MP BSI sensor, EXPEED 7, Z9-derived AI autofocus
- Mix stills (30fps with Pre-Release Capture) with 4K 60p / Full HD 120p video
- Shoot both native Z-mount and legacy F-mount glass
- Want a compact, lighter rig with reliable safety monitoring

The Camera: Nikon Z5II
New to the Z5II? Here's the context. Already know it well — skip to the housing below.
The Nikon Z5II is a substantial refinement of its predecessor, with faster processing, subject-recognition autofocus and improved low-light performance. A full-frame 24.5MP BSI CMOS sensor pairs with the EXPEED 7 processor, and the AI-driven autofocus — derived from the Z9 — detects nine subject types and works down to -10EV. Pre-Release Capture records up to a second before the shutter at 30fps, while video covers UHD 4K up to 60p and Full HD up to 120p.

The Housing
Lens compatibility and the N120 port system
The NA-Z5II is built on Nauticam's N120 port system and accommodates both Z-mount and F-mount lenses via the FTZ / FTZ II adapter. With the housing's compact design, newly released zoom and focus gears drive directly off the main zoom/focus knob. The 22225 N120 FTZ Adapter ER 25 with Knob also lets you use previous-generation Z-mount zoom/focus gear, along with F-mount lenses and their corresponding gears. Check the NA-Z6III/Z5II port chart for full compatibility details.
Worth noting: a vacuum system reset switch beneath the tray means you don't need to open the housing back during lens or port changes. The optional 32221 NA-Z5II LCD window enables the use of Nauticam Full Frame viewfinders for enhanced viewing.
Mission Control: every control within reach
In true Nauticam fashion, essential controls sit as close to the handles as possible — positioned where your fingers need them rather than mirroring the camera's button layout. Dials carry rubberised finger grooves and the levers are tuned for smooth operation, making the housing intuitive to drive throughout a dive. Additional 1/4"-20, M10 and M5 mounting points sit on top for monitors and lighting, and the bottom accepts the 25218 tripod mounting ball set.
Flash triggering
The NA-Z5II supports both optical and electrical triggering.
Optical:
- 26350 Flash Trigger for Nikon
- 26601 HSS TTL Converter for Nikon (NA-Z8/Z9/Z6III)
Electrical:
- 25013 M14 Nikonos 5-pin bulkhead with hotshoe connection (with 26326 M24-M16 adaptor)
Vacuum check and leak detection — standard
Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection electronics ship with the NA-Z5II as standard. Combined with the optional 25625 M16 Vacuum Valve II, the system continuously reports the housing's watertight, safe-to-dive status through a color-coded LED: solid vacuum, or vacuum loss. Leak detection runs on the same circuit, so any water intrusion triggers an audible and visual alarm.
The system is temperature-compensated, so it won't throw false alarms from a change in water temperature or from the camera heating up on an action-packed dive.
