Nauticam NA-R7 Underwater Housing
For the Canon EOS R7
The NA-R7 takes Canon's high-resolution APS-C action body underwater — a 32.5MP sensor with up to 30fps shooting and autofocus derived from the pro EOS R3, in a compact crop-sensor system. Built on Nauticam's N100 port system, it runs native RF (and adapted EF) glass, keeps the essentials under your fingers, and ships with vacuum and leak monitoring as standard.
Consider the NA-R7 if you:
- Want a high-resolution APS-C action body — 32.5MP, up to 30fps, R3-derived Dual Pixel AF
- Like the reach, size and weight advantages of a crop sensor underwater
- Shoot native RF-S glass, or adapt EF lenses, with WWL-1B and CMC wet optics
- Need reliable safety monitoring for demanding dives

The Camera: Canon EOS R7
New to the R7? Here's the context. Already know it well — skip to the housing below.
The Canon EOS R7 is Canon's high-resolution APS-C mirrorless body on the RF mount — a strong upgrade path for 7D and 7D Mark II shooters. It pairs a 32.5MP CMOS sensor with in-body stabilisation rated up to 7 stops and the Dual Pixel II autofocus system carried over from the pro EOS R3, with 651 AF points covering the full frame. Video includes oversampled 4K 30p from the full 7K sensor area, subsampled UHD 4K up to 60p, and 10-bit PQ HDR or C-Log capture.

The Housing
Lens compatibility and the N100 port system
The NA-R7 is built on Nauticam's N100 port system. Native RF lenses are supported directly, and for legacy EF glass, Nauticam's N100-to-N120 adapter integrates the housing into the N120 Canon EF port system — fit Canon's EF-to-EOS R adapter to the camera before insertion, and the port and extension-ring arrangement matches a Nauticam Canon N120 DSLR setup. As the RF-S lens lineup grows, dedicated port and extension-ring combinations are listed on the N100 RF-S port chart.
Worth noting: the NA-R7 supports only the standard EF-to-EOS R adapter — it does not give access to the control-ring or drop-in-filter versions of the adapter.
Mission Control: every control within reach
True to Nauticam form, essential controls sit as close to the handles as possible. A dual thumb lever by the right front accesses the M-Fn and Record buttons, a thumb lever on the rear right reaches AF-On, and a lever near the left handle covers Playback. Large knurled, rubberised dials operate the camera's main and sub command dials, and a two-stage trigger gives smooth, separate control over focus and firing. Additional buttons — Menu, Focus Point Selection and others — remain within easy reach of the handles.
Premium optics: WWL-1B, CMC-1 and CMC-2
Three of Nauticam's in-house wet optics complete an R7 system. The WWL-1B wide-angle conversion lens, paired with the Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM, delivers a 130° diagonal field of view with full zoom-through down to 60°, with class-leading sharpness and contrast. For macro, the CMC-1 (0.8× magnification with that lens) and CMC-2 (0.6×) cover a wide range of subjects — CMC-2 is gentler and easier to autofocus, CMC-1 best for the smallest subjects.
Flash triggering
Trigger strobes through the built-in fiber-optic bulkheads using one of two optional triggers: a manual LED trigger (PN 26305) or a TTL flash trigger (PN 26321), paired with optional fiber-optic cables. For strobes that don't support fiber-optic triggering, a range of legacy hot-shoe flash control bulkheads is available.
Vacuum check and leak detection — standard
Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection electronics ship with the NA-R7 as standard. Combined with the optional 25624 M14 Vacuum Valve II, the system continuously reports the housing's watertight, safe-to-dive status through a color-coded LED: solid vacuum, or vacuum loss. Leak detection runs on the same circuit, so any water intrusion triggers an audible and visual alarm.
The system is temperature-compensated, so it won't throw false alarms from a change in water temperature or from the camera heating up on an action-packed dive.
