Nauticam NA-Z50II Underwater Housing
For the Nikon Z50 II
The Z50 II is Nikon's follow-up to its inaugural DX (APS-C) sensor mirrorless camera, sharing the Z Lens Mount with their full-frame Z cameras. It brings notable improvements over its predecessor, especially in video capture and autofocus. The Nauticam NA-Z50II is a compact, travel-friendly housing designed to be used exclusively with the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens, built around a fixed flat port with a pre-installed bayonet mount for wet-mate optics.
Consider the NA-Z50II if you:
- Want a lightweight, form-fitting system for travel and reef diving.
- Shoot both wide-angle and macro and value the convenience of wet-swappable WWL-C and CMC-1 optics.
- Are moving up from a compact and want a true interchangeable-lens platform without a large port system.
- Need a do-anything rig with full zoom-through capability behind a wide-angle wet lens.

The Camera
The Nikon Z50 II pairs a 20.9MP DX (APS-C) CMOS sensor with Nikon's newest EXPEED 7 processor. It records 4K UHD using the full sensor width at up to 30fps (no field-of-view loss), 4K60p from a native 4K crop (1.44x), and HD at up to 120fps for slow-motion. A rear switch toggles between stills and video, each retaining discrete exposure settings.
Key camera specs:
- 20.9MP CMOS DX-format image sensor
- EXPEED 7 processor

The Housing
Optimised optical design. The NA-Z50II is built around the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens behind a fixed flat port with a pre-installed bayonet mount. With Nauticam's WWL-C wide-angle optic, the system achieves an impressive 130-degree field of view with full zoom-through. The wet-mate design lets the optic be swapped underwater for the CMC-1 macro lens.
Maximum efficiency. The compact body uses a clamshell closure that allows a drop-in installation of the camera with no tray necessary.
Mission Control. Intuitively placed controls put critical functions within easy reach of the integrated, stabilised ergonomic handles. Textured knobs for the main and sub command dials sit alongside dedicated video REC and AF-ON buttons, and a convenient top switch toggles stills/video.
Flash triggering. The Z50 II's pop-up flash provides accurate TTL flash triggering via the integrated fibre-optic bulkheads. A housing switch raises or lowers the flash to switch quickly between ambient and artificial light.
Vacuum and leak detection. The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is included as standard. Combined with the optional vacuum valve (25625), it provides constant monitoring of the watertight, safe-to-dive status via a colour-coded LED system. Leak detection is built into the same circuit and is temperature compensated to eliminate false alarms.
