The Retra Maxi is Retra's mid-range hybrid underwater strobe, optimised for maximum guide-number output. It delivers GN46 at ~6200 K and, with the optional built-in 6000-lumen ultra-wide video light, doubles as a powerful continuous light for video — a true stills-and-video combination in one housing. Powered by two off-the-shelf 21700 batteries, it offers 550+ full-power shots, sub-2-second recycle and bursts up to 50 fps.

Why the Maxi
Powerful hybrid output
GN46 at ~6200 K, with 160° coverage at ~4500 K using the wide-angle diffuser. Optimised for guide-number performance to reach distant subjects with exceptional output.
Built-in 6000-lumen video light
The optional integrated video light gives 6000 lm of ultra-wide 110° coverage at 5000 K (CRI 80), plus a 400-lumen central focus light ideal for snooting — a complete stills-and-video solution.
Power and speed
Two 21700 6000 mAh batteries give 550+ full-power shots and up to an hour of video light at half power, with sub-2-second full-power recycle and bursts up to 50 fps.
Night-dive ready
