The NA-α1II takes two of Sony's pro bodies underwater in a single housing. Because the α1 II and α9 III share a body design, one housing covers both — flagship 50MP resolution and 8K video, or a 24.6MP global-shutter sensor for ultra-high-speed sync and clean high-frame-rate video. Built on Nauticam's N100 port system, it keeps the essentials under your fingers and ships with vacuum and leak monitoring electronics pre-installed.

The Camera: Sony α1 II and α9 III

The α1 II and α9 III are Sony's pro-level bodies, between them covering the full span of stills and video needs. They share a body design — and the same 9.44M-dot EVF from the α7R V — which is what lets a single housing serve both without adapters or compromise.
The α1 II is Sony's flagship high-resolution body: a 50MP stacked BSI CMOS sensor with the BIONZ XR processor, autofocus, subject tracking and IBIS upgrades drawn from the α7R V, and up to 8K 30p video. The α9 III takes a different path — a 24.6MP full-frame global-shutter sensor that flash-syncs at up to 1/80,000s and shoots clean 4K 120p from the full sensor area, eliminating rolling shutter and opening up high-speed and strongly backlit scenes.

The Housing
Lens compatibility and the N100 port system
The NA-α1II is built around Nauticam's N100 port opening, supporting everything from extreme wide-angle to super macro. Alongside traditional dome and flat-port configurations, it works with much of Nauticam's Water Contact Optics range: pair it with the WACP-1B, WACP-C or WWL-1B for a 130° rectilinear field of view with ~0" minimum focus, full zoom-through and excellent corner sharpness; step up to the FCP for 170° fisheye coverage; or push macro further with the SMC-3 (2.3× magnification) or the EMWL 160° lens. N100-to-N120 adapters extend port compatibility further.
Mission Control: every control within reach
Nauticam's Mission Control philosophy places controls within easy reach of the ergonomic handles. A dual-action thumb lever near the right handle actuates AF-On and Record, while a thumb lever near the left handle covers Playback. The shutter release and the main and sub command dials all stay within reach without taking your hands off the handles.
EVF enhancement
Both cameras share the same ultra-high-resolution 9.4M-dot EVF. To take full advantage of it underwater, pair the housing with one of Nauticam's Enhanced 0.8:1 viewfinders for full edge-to-edge magnified viewing, with a diopter you can adjust underwater to match your vision.
HDMI output
A large-bore M24 bulkhead at the front of the housing supports HDMI 2.0, or HDMI 1.4 with a step-down adapter to M16, for external monitors and recorders. An additional M10 threaded mounting position near the front centre makes running an external monitor easier.
Vacuum check and leak detection — standard
The NA-α1II ships with Nauticam's vacuum check and leak detection electronics pre-installed, requiring only the optional 25624 M14 Vacuum Valve II. The system continuously reports the housing's watertight, safe-to-dive status through a color-coded LED: solid vacuum, or vacuum loss. Leak detection runs on the same circuit, so any water intrusion triggers an audible and visual alarm.
The system is temperature-compensated, so it won't throw false alarms from a change in water temperature or from the camera heating up on an action-packed dive.
Strobe triggering
External strobes are triggered through the integrated fiber-optic bulkheads using the optional Mini Flash Trigger for Sony (26302). Electronic triggering is also available via an optional Nikonos or Ikelite-style bulkhead.
